A Pastor's Reflections

I like the old story about a young preacher who went to the front door of the church to greet people after church every Sunday. Most of the time, the church members were nice and said nice things to him about his sermon. However, this one older lady, always gave him the very same comment.
She always said, "Preacher, that was a warm sermon." Well, he couldn’t quite figure that out, but she kept on saying it for several weeks, "Preacher, that was a warm sermon."
Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. He stopped her after church one day and said, "Ma’am, I’m sorry, but I don’t understand that expression, ‘That was a warm sermon?’ What do you mean?"
She smiled and answered, "Preacher, I thought you understood. Something WARM is --- not so hot."
Do you ever feel "not so hot?" I am afraid that all of us have days and times in our lives like that.
The Bible has a word of hope for us. In fact, the Bible is filled with hope for our lives.
Consider this beautiful promise from the Old Testament: "Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
Good news for us. Encouraging news for us. Even on days that we feel "not so hot."
