Do you ever feel like you don’t have what it takes? I sure sometimes feel that way.
I heard a story about an older woman who was complaining about her husband. Someone asked her, “Well, where did you meet him?”
She said, “I met him at a travel agency, he was the last resort.”
I just wonder, do you ever feel like the last resort?
If that is the case, then I have some wonderful news for us today. Scripture teaches that God doesn’t choose like we do. The Apostle Paul wrote, “But God chose the foolish things of this world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this world to put the powerful to shame.” (I Corinthians 1: 27)
Isn’t that great news? Jesus talked about the first being last, and the last being first. He talked about the mustard seed growing to be something significant.
So, are you feeling weak today? Have you been overlooked? Do you feel like you are the least likely to succeed? Perhaps, the last resort? Then congratulations! You are the exactly the kind of person who God wants to use in His Kingdom.
The Apostle Paul affirmed, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13) May that be our prayer today, even when we feel like we are the last resort.
