"A Word of Hope" - - by Rev. Weldon Bares

We sure are living in strange days. We are experiencing things that are beyond our control. We don’t know when this will end. Ordinary life is so different. Schools are closed. Sporting events are canceled. Businesses and places of work are closed. To me, it is like we are living in a bad dream.

But I am standing today on my faith in Christ. I want to share today a simple word of hope, hope that is found in God.

This word of hope is found in the New Testament book of Romans: “For I am certain that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Shall distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present nor things to come . . . shall be able to separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35-39)

In the midst of uncertainty and stress, I encourage you to hold on to that truth. Our hope is in God. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Not disease. Not uncertainty. Not a struggling economy. Nothing can separate us from God’s love.

So today, are you worried? Stressed? Fearful? Hold on to hope. Hold on to your faith. God is with us. We are not alone!
