I am so thankful today for many things: * I am thankful for a church full of people yesterday! It was so good to gather together in God's House to sing and pray and hear God's Word. * I am thankful for little steps of progress. Each day seems to get a little bit better. A few more businesses are open. I even saw a Suddenlink truck yesterday for the first time. * I am thankful for the kindness of so many people. First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge has sent teams to cook meals in our parking lot and teams of youth to work in cleaning debris. Some people from the United Methodist Church in Lockport drove all the way over here to deliver supplies. Other churches and individuals have generously sent gifts for us to use in reaching out to hurting people. * I am thankful for the church staff of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church in Pensacola, Florida. They have been so gracious to our staff. In fact, their staff is coming to meet with our staff this coming Friday to pray with us. I cannot begin to tell you how much this means to me. Their church was basically destroyed by Hurricane Michael two years ago. * I am thankful every single day for God's abiding presence. Even in days of struggle and frustration, I can see the love and grace of God. I hope that you are seeing and feeling God's presence every day. As we go through the challenges of this week, let's remember this truth: You are not alone. God is with you every step of the way. In the midst of struggle, let's be thankful!
