Admiral William McRaven (U.S. Navy Retired) wrote a really good little book entitled, “Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life, and Maybe the World.”
In the middle of the book, Admiral McRaven wrote these powerful words: “At some point we will all confront a dark moment in life. If not the passing of a loved one, then something else that crushes your spirit and leaves you wondering about your future. In that dark moment, reach deep inside yourself and be your very best.”
I want us to read again the last sentence: “In that dark moment, reach deep inside yourself and be your very best.”
The Admiral’s words are so true. Eventually we will face a dark moment. At some point, it comes to all of us.
The Bible has this wonderful and poetic verse: “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.” (Psalm 23:4)
Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
I pray today that God help us to reach deep inside our heart and to be our very best, especially in a dark moment.
