I grew up listening to The Beatles. The Sirius XM Beatles Channel has a real hold on me. George Harrison, the youngest member of the Fab Four, died in November of 2001.
George Harrison said in an interview shortly before his death that three questions are important to ask during your life. Question number one, who am I? Number two, why am I here? Number three, where am I going?
I hope that George found the answer to those three questions during his lifetime. At least he asked the questions and was seeking an answer.
Have you ever struggled with those three questions? So many of us just drift along through life, never giving any serious thought to the deeper meaning of life. Obviously, Harrison gave thought to it. Songs such as “Within You, Without You,” “All Things Must Pass,” “Beware of Darkness,” “What is Life?” and many others point to serious spiritual thought.
Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? Three profound questions. I personally believe the answer to these questions can be found in the Bible. A careful study of God’s Word reveals the answers to our true identity . . . our purpose in life . . . and our final destination.
Allow me to be personal. Do YOU know who you really are? Do you know your purpose in life? Do you know where you are going? The answers can be found in Christ.
Thank you, George, for raising some intriguing questions and for making us think . . . and for all the great music through the years!
