Chancel Choir

During the traditional service, in our historic sanctuary, our Chancel Choir under the direction of Emily Gonsoulin, and accompanied by Marlene Mullenix lead the congregation in traditional Christian hymns. After the sermon, the choir performs an anthem.

The Chancel Choir practices on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m.  to 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room on the second floor.Sunday.

We do not practice for the month of July, but we still sing on Sunday.

As Director of Music Ministries, I conduct the Chancel Choir and work to develop a deeper understanding of music’s role in the faith and mission of our church. Since music is such an integral part of worship, it is my goal to grow the program through concerts, events, and special music services. If you are interested in joining the choir or would like to support music ministries at First United Methodist Church, I would love to hear from you!
