Welcome To Our Church Nursery
At First United Methodist Church we believe that children are a blessing...true gifts from God. It is our desire to provide your children with loving care in a safe, secure environment.
LOCATION & AVAILABILITY:
The Church Nursery is located in the area just outside the Worship Center. Nursery care is provided during Sunday worship services and Sunday School. Nursery is also provided for choir practices, church-related meetings, or mid-week worship services if scheduled with the Church Nursery Director. To schedule childcare, please contact Diane Brown, Church Nursery Director, at 433-4570.
Children are welcome in the church nursery beginning at 6 weeks of age up to age 4. They will be assigned to rooms based on their age.
SIGN-IN PROCEDURE:
A sign-in sheet is provided on the counter outside the nursery area. Please complete the sheet fully each time you bring your child to the nursery. This information is vital in case we need to reach you. We are blessed to be able to provide pagers for parents so that we can contact you, if needed, while your child is in our care.
Please inform the nursery workers of the following:
-
the time for your infant’s next feeding
-
if your infant/child has any allergies
-
other special needs or concerns
Please bring your child to the assigned room. You will be given a pager to carry with you while at church. The nursery staff will notify you if they need you for any reason.
DIAPER BAGS SHOULD INCLUDE:
-
3-4 diapers
-
Baby wipes
-
Bottles filled with either formula, juice, water, or milk
-
A change of clothes
-
Comfort items such as pacifiers, special blanket or stuffed animal.
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ITEMS ARE LABELED.
ILLNESS:We take pride in our nursery and require our program to be a well-baby facility. If your child has any of the following symptoms, we ask that you keep them at home:
-
Fever
-
Heavy nasal discharge
-
Vomiting
-
Diarrhea
Children should be free of the above symptoms for 24 hours before being placed in the nursery.
NURSERY CAREGIVERS:
Taking care of your child is of utmost importance and is truly a ministry for our caregivers. Our caregivers include paid staff along with volunteers. Because your child’s safety and well-being is our highest concern, all our paid staff are First Aid and CPR certified.
If you have any questions or would like a tour of our church nursery, please contact our Nursery Director, Ms. Diane Brown, at 433-4570.
