She is an employee at a local establishment. I noticed a shirt she was wearing the other day that said: "The only ghost I know is the Holy Ghost." The words on her shirt really spoke to me. It was a word that I needed to hear.

One of the oldest creeds in the Christian faith is The Apostles' Creed. In the middle of the creed, these words are found: "I believe in the Holy Spirit."

Volumes have been written about the theology of the Holy Spirit. But I want to affirm today that I believe in the Holy Spirit. All through my life, I felt the Holy Spirit's comfort and conviction. All through my life, I have felt glimpses of the Holy Spirit's power. I just want more and more of the Holy Spirit's fullness in my life every day.

E. Stanley Jones was a famous Methodist missionary to India. He wrote, "The human spirit fails, unless the Holy Spirit fills."

Jesus made this promise to his followers, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." (Acts 1:8) I believe the promise of Jesus is still true today.

God's Holy Spirit can give us today the power to love others, the power to forgive, the power to say no to what is wrong and yes to what is right. God’s Holy Spirit draws us closer and closer to Jesus Christ.

I am so thankful today for the witness of that employee's shirt: "The only ghost I know is the Holy Ghost." Amen!
